Square Painted Spindle Mahogony Stairs with Storage

This Client locataed between  Monkstown and Blackrock , in County Dublin wanted to refurbish her tired 1950’s staircase with something fresh but still in keeping with the style of the house. I suggested incorporating some under stairs storage solutions to help de-clutter the hallway. By being smart about the design of the storage solution I managed to incorporate 3 custom pull out units for storage of shoes, hoover, schoolbags, coats and jackets. For the new balustrade I choose a simple square painted spindle up-cycled the existing mahogany handrail by adding some reclaimed mahogany and staining and lacquering in the workshop to achieve a consistent tone.
